Ruth  Hartman Berge is a Florida native who enjoys writing in several  genres--mainly because she just enjoys writing. She is a former  columnist for Seabreeze Publications, Inc. where her column, "The  Florida You Don't Know" had a wide and loyal following.

She  feels that her purpose in writing is to bring a smile to the faces of  her readers whether the topic is memoir/history, children's books, or a  nice mystery. After all, the world can be scary place these days. If she  can make her readers escape to a kinder, gentler, sillier place, then  she's done her job.
